The 4 th International Workshop on Computational Intelligence

in Economics and Finance (CIEF'2005)

Marriott City Center, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

July 21-26, 2005

  Dear CIEF'2005 Participants,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce a new journal, New Mathematics and Natural Computation, which has just had its debut on March, 2005, and is published by World Scientific. The journal consists of three major interdisciplinary fields, and has computational intelligence in economics and finance as a major part of it. In fact, CIEF is just a case in point of the more broad and emerging filed, known as computational social sciences. Abstracts of papers from CIEFs of the first two issues can be founded in the website. http://www.aiecon.org/nmnc/abstract/abstract.html
From there, you can get a flavor of the journal and the kind of work you may expect.

To celebrate what we have just achieved, there is a special event, a welcome party, organized by JCIS and is sponsored by World Scientific on July 23, 7:00-8:00 p.m., just one hour before the conference dinner. All CIEF participants are welcome. The brochure of the journal NM&NC as well as a free copy of it are available then.

In the welcome dinner, Prof. Paul Wang and myself shall also announce the first step toward the establishment of the society, AI in Economics and Finance. So, please join us and contribute yourself on what we may make the academic society better in the future. Look forward to seeing all of you then.

Best regards,
Shu-Heng Chen
